the fish is a 1950s TV lamp. These were kind of a thing in 50s-60s, the theory being that a light on top of your TV set would reduce eye strain. There are some really cool/tacky TV lamps, and they're a fun and cheap collectible

After 6+ weeks of never venturing more than 1.5 miles from my house (<1 per week, and then only for necessities) wife and I put on the space suits and drove around Austin to see what was up. River full of kayaks, tons of people in Zilker. I think people have finally snapped.
I understand the same thing is happening in SoCal and other places with high densities of neighborhood scolds. Just observing there is a limit to how long people are willing to be Karenized.
I don't think it helps convince people to stay at home when Austin treats the free-range bum population like an endangered species with an ecologically sensitive protected habitat

hat tip to @EdAlvarezB for the video link. Gotta say things have changed a bit since I was a farm boy, and our tractor high tech was an AM/FM radio + cassette deck. (FTR we had an IH 856, IH 560, IH Super M, and IH 1460 combine)
