1/ The quarantine is a cultural and political experiment: We're seeing just how quickly the U.S. can be dissolved. #ProtestLockdown

clarionproject.org/coronavirus-go…
2/ If Americans stand down, the U.S. openly becomes a surveillance state overnight. LA and NYC mayors are already pushing out 'comfort' 🍼videos telling residents to activate themselves as surveillance extensions of the state. #ProtestTheLockdown

3/ Google, often first in helping authoritarian rule boot stomp a population, has also risen to the occasion along with Apple. Watch this tweet for a sub-thread on how Google and Apple help nations crush its civilian population.
4/ @tedcruz leads charge calling out absurdities of government overreach. Government overreach isn't about your protection through: it's about using crisis as opportunity, which is exactly what violent extremists do.
I talk about here with
@SchoepJeff. soundcloud.com/shireenqudosi/…
5/ Rule of law for public protection hasn't been extended to prison population. 1400 released in NYC, 4000 (25%) released in LA in one month despite only 11 inmates catching coronavirus. Many inmates will default into homelessness. This doesn't set up anyone for success.
6/ While the mainstream media is busy identifying protests across Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio as Right-wing extremism, the bigger picture tells a different story: #protests are reaction to disproportionate government response. This is important on two levels...
7/ First, absurd quarantine laws feed the Islamist extremist narrative that America is a lost state that has no honor. We can call other cultures primitive but in those cultures it's UNTHINKABLE to betray loyalty to your tribe by snitching. I'm half Afghan: loyalty is EVERYTHING.
8/ When your elected officials prioritize weed/alcohol over seeds, it's gives Islamist extremists a selling point for their cause. It lets them tell their recruits "Look, Americans know nothing about real life." I talk about that here with a U.S. Army vet clarionproject.org/cultural-darwi…
9/ The narrative of extremists is not some fringe fantasy rooted in propaganda. People who have had hard lives -- immigrants, veterans -- know the difference between essential/non-essential. #PVE #MichiganProtest

Seeds are essential.
Honor is essential.
10/ "When you start stacking up deployments, those deployments are your home. And the U.S. is just someplace you go to in-between. A place full of soft, selfish marshmallow people with no sense of honor, whose sole purpose in life is to serve themselves." - Special Forces Veteran
11/ Extremists know all they need to do is outlast America. Islamist surge during crisis points for the West because one of their foundational beliefs is ideological supremacy in the consistency of 1400 years against the infancy of 243-year-old nation. #IslamsOriginStory
12/ Other nation states follow suit in that belief, including Iran, which sees itself born out of a 4000 year-old empire. White supremacists interested in turning back the clock also look at the same scale of time. All of these are waiting to simply outlast America. #PVE
13/ Like any belief system, America is an idea. In order for that idea to survive it has to retain to autonomy of its core foundational principles. The U.S. Constitution must not bend.

Is it extremism to refuse to get on your knees? #ProtestTheLockdown
14/ Second, simply chalking up #ProtestTheLockdown as 'white supremacists' ignores the commonality in any movement: for every one person you see, hundreds if not thousands more join in silence, for now

Disproportionate govt response distorts our relationship w/ the rule of law.
15/ This is especially true when Americans see disparity in who is being impacted by government overreach during COVID-19. Inmates are free, but fathers playing ball in the park are being handcuffed. Food lines wrap around parking lots, but elite have stocked luxury foods...
16/ In San Diego you can be fined for a picnic or watching the sunset in your car. The people most likely seeking outdoor spaces are lower/middle class families who don't have the luxury of backyards. As it is, the poor cannot afford quarantine. Govt now wants to cite them $1000
17/ In a surveillance state, drones and your neighbors are being deployed to monitor movement. This is being pushed as normal under the guise of "care." It is NOT fucking normal.
18/ A functioning society needs a single unifying language, and that language is a shared law. That law is upheld when there is trust in law enforcement as well as the elected officials who determine codes of law. clarionproject.org/the-boys-helps… cc: @realhumanrights
19/ 💥When quarantine is determined by political agendas and whims, our governing social order falls into radicalism — the belief there's only one way to live.

When that belief system is enforced through law at the cost of foundational freedoms, that force is extremism.
20/ So while a spotty batch of protests might feel like a demonstration of extremism — and while some race supremacists are piggy-backing off those opportunities — the real extremism here is government overreach.
21/ What we need right now are common sense steps that get America back to work. This is a solid guideline. The alternative is increased civil unrest that furthers the #boogaloo (violent civil war) that extremists and foreign enemies want. @KUSINews kusi.com/former-san-die…
3a) Google has a long history of teaming up with authoritarian overlords, including helping China persecute it's 2 million Muslim #Uighur population, including heavy surveillance and policing.

clarionproject.org/google-is-team…
3b) 2018: leaked memo showed Google is willing to engage in U.S. censorship to secure "safety and civility." Part of this relied on premise of fighting "American fascism" which is in part why all protests are painted as "white nationalists." cc: @pnjaban clarionproject.org/google-is-team…
3c) Google and Apple are very comfortable with surveillance tech. Last year, human rights activists blasted the Silicon Valley giants for pushing an app that helps Saudi men track the women in their family. Think digital dog tags. hrw.org/news/2019/05/0…
3d) 2018: Apple CEO Tim Cook took stand against hate speech. Sounds nice right? Except that only conservatives speech gets classified as hate speech. There is also no distinction made between nationalist vs. supremacist. clarionproject.org/is-apple-ceo-t…
3e) What does Silicon Valley have do w/ how #LockdownProtests?

Google handles > 60% U.S. internet research and > 90% of queries worldwide. Few people know Google isn't how you vet info.

Google doesn't give knowledge. It attacks it. - @ScandalOfMoney.

3f) We're facing a reality-altering digital consciousness where Google decides which information to bring to surface and which to bury. Silicon Valley is a devastating extension of authoritarian states. Who is telling you protestors are white nationalists? Oh you Googled it?
3g) Americans protesting the unsustainable, crippling lockdowns are being shamed as being selfish or disturbing the peace.

Peace cannot be ushered by choking voices. Neither is peace authentic when it is forced rather than collaboratively nurtured.
3h) If you cannot be shamed into submission, those who wish to be your masters will deceptively use the language of freedom and other pinnacle human values of tolerance and unity to ensure intolerance and conformity. #protestlockdowns

Super annoyed that even though I tweeted this thread in sequence, Twitter jumbled it up. I've sorted in proper sequence and published on @Medium:
