Imagine owing $12k in backpay for rent, and trying to cut a deal with your landlord to let you stay on.

How do you end up owing that much rent in Monterey County? That’s 10 months at the median rent at the time.
And in case you’re wondering where the $12k comes from, it was actually $12,750 according to her bankruptcy filing
Her landlord, Lasjon, took her and 5 other people to court in late 2011 for “breach of contract” over unpaid rent.

The plaintiff withdrew the case in April 2012.

Tara is (erroneously?) listed as “Tata” in the case.
In Tara’s old biography, she claims she qualified for the “junior olympics” in downhill skiing at the age of 12 and then trained for 3 years.

The problem? The Junior Olympics didn’t have downhill skiing in 1976, when Tara was 12, nor in the subsequent years of her “training”
There is also the Youth Winter Olympics, but their inaugural event was in 2012.

Since Tara was born in the early 60’s, it’s unlikely she would have been 12 years old in 2012
Now, there was junior alpine racing back in the 1970’s, as shown by the history of the “top US junior alpine skier” in 1976/77. But, to my knowledge, there was no “Junior Olympics” or anything to that extent.

Tara could just be mistaken/exaggerating.
