(Thread) Why do people engage this guy? Over the years, I've suggested to several IQ-interested people that they should completely ignore this fellow and never respond to him for the following reasons: he genuinely seems too dim to understand these topics, he's rude in a way...
that is typical only of teenagers, he focuses on objections which are extremely fringe and so not useful to refute (e.g. arguing that IQ tests literally don't measure anything), he doesn't have a large audience, and once engaged he will go on forever. No one follows my advice...
and people are now posting things I said from discord thereby indirectly causing me to be engaged with him. I would like to know why. Are there good reasons for engaging him that I've overlooked, or are people just engaging him because he is hard to ignore?
Oh, I should add this objections are not just fringe, but also uniformly uninteresting and so there is usually nothing to be gained intellectually from them.
