In a break from my usual postings, here’s a surprisingly simple recipe for chocolate chip cookies, as made for the first time by a 41 year old man. #baking 1/9
This recipe works despite a lack of adequate cooking utensils such as measuring spoons, scales, etc. All you need is a big bowl, some spoons, and a dollop of self-assured confidence 2/9
First mix *some* butter, sugar (some white, some sticky brown). 3/9
Give it a good beat with the big spoon. Add an egg! Stop when your arm gets a bit sore. 4/9
If you realise you forgot to get flour on your last monthly shop, don’t worry — the corner shop has this stuff. 5/9
Add some broken chocolate (or whatever sweet things you can find) and mix vigorously. Use the other arm, until that hurts too. #workout. 6/9
Place dollops of your cookie mix on a baking tray. Take care to spread out to let them breathe! 7/9
It won’t take long at 190 C - so keep an eye on them every few minutes... looking a bit spread-out, but heh! 8/9
Take them out and... is this “cookies”? Fuck sake. 9/9
