On a recent podcast, Dan Bongino asked John Solomon about the theory that Stefan Halper is the primary author of the Steele dossier.
Solomon, politely, provides a more likely scenario.
Jack Cashill, who's a gifted literary detective, has written an analysis of the Steele dossier.
He doesn't believe that a person as educated as Steele could create such an awkwardly-written document.

I suppose Halper or Steele or Simpson could have deliberately written so poorly to obscure their authorship, but that seems like a stretch.
More likely, as Solomon suggests, Steele was collecting information from numerous sources, including some for whom English is not their first language, and "cutting and pasting it into his document."
I suspect the reason Simpson turned over such an atrociously written work product, to include some glaring misspelled words, is that he didn't want to edit the dossier.
Simpson wanted complete deniability.
