Once upon a day there were many spoons in a spoon holder. All freshly washed, with a faint lemony perfume. +
A kid came along, grabbed one, used it to spread jam. Took another for the butter. And a third to scoop out the butter that wouldn't come out of the second spoon. And a fourth for the chutney. +
Clang, clang, clang, clang. She tossed them into the sink. +
A man waddled in to make coffee. Somehow managed to use three spoons for a one spoon job. +
Clang, clang, clang. He tossed them into the sink. +
Another kid came along. Took a spoon to have some cake. Dropped one spoon in the process. Took another spoon to have corn flakes. +
Clang, clang, clang. They all went into the sink. +
The cat, deep in her sleep, got startled. She jumped off the fridge, onto the kitchen platform. And dropped the remaining six spoons. +
A woman in her bedroom, felt an itchiness in her throat. A spoon of honey, she thought, will do the trick. +
She reached for one of the several spoons she had just washed. But she only clutched at air. "Aaaaaargh!" , she screamed , "I'll kill all of you with my bare hands!" +
"What happened, darling', the man asked. Between gasps she yelled, "All I wanted was to have a spoon of honey to soothe my throat..." +
"Don't scream, honey ... he he he... honey, see what I did there.... you'll get a sore throat" +
CLANG, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG. She threw the kitchen sink at him.
