There is something to ponder for all Bengalis.
a) A Bengali makes a facebook post disrespectful of Muslims; Bengali gets arrested.
b) Bengali makes remarks against Marwaris; Bengali is arrested
c) Assamese, Gurkhas, Hindi folk, Marwaris - all abuse Bengalis. No consequence.
What does the above tell you? Bengalis are at the bottom of the peck order. Anyone and everyone may abuse Bengalis, but Bengalis may not fight back. This is the fate of Bengalis, not only outside Bengal, but also in Bengal itself. The message is clear-Bengalis don't belong.
The same is true for south Indian ethnicities, and KPs. The message from the Indian state is very clear; you don't belong here. It is time we understood this message and responded to it by protecting our interests. The Indians state is going to be only hostile to us.

The current Indian state is Gandhian. Sangh is also Gandhian. All the problems and vices of the Indian state are completely Gandhian. Gandhi also envisioned a state where non-Hindi Hindus were at the bottom of the peck order. So, the problems are those of the Gandhian state.

The proportion of Bengali Hindus in Bengal is ~60-65%. The proportion of Bengali Hindus in the 0-4 age group is ~55%. Bengali Hindus are in serious danger of becoming the minority in their own state in the next 50 years. The time-window for saving Bengal is very limited.
Bengal should put in place measures to attract Hindu Bengalis from everywhere. There are 1.2-1.3 crore Bengali Hindus in Bangladesh, ~35 lakh Bengali Hindus in Assam and Jharkhand apiece. Attracting them will alleviate the problem at least for the time being.
This will, however, doom both Jharkhand and Assam immediately (Assam will turn outright Hindu minority if the Bengalis leave, while Jharkhand will drop into the 50-60% Hindu range), but this is not Bengal's problem outright.

1) Only Scroll can publish this kind of audacious nonsense. Let us revisit the facts. The Bengali calendar begins ~594CE. This coincides with the rise of the Bengal kingdom, in time of Raja Shashaanka, who ruled in the early 7th century.
2) The rise of the Bengal kingdom under Shashaanka was most likely what gave rise to the Bengali calendar. The 594CE beginning, which is much earlier than what the Hijra would suggest, is probably the year which marks the beginning of the Bengal kingdom, as an independent entity.
3) The earliest reference to the Bangabda comes from 2 Shiva temples, one in Dihargram, the other in Sonatapan (both in Bankura district). Both these temples are ~1000 years old, and both of them pre-date Akbar. (p. 97, Land of Two Rivers', Nitish Sengupta).

@rajeev579 @19141919s `Marwaris' is your assumption. As for the question-yes, they are based on religious considerations too. BTW, if one of their own were to get butchered by the Jihadis, they would not transfer cash to the group in question. For these mercantile groups, we are lesser Hindus.+

@rajeev579 @19141919s BTW, the biggest of these hawala traders are blue-blooded ones. They will boastfully tell you how they put money into the hands of Alauddin Khilji/Aurangzeb/Aliwardi Khan to slaughter Hindus and level their temples, and received a shawl from him in return, which they treasure.
