Talked to my mom today. She lives in Manaus Brazil a city of 2 mil. deep in the Amazon. Living quarters are cramped and families large. Covid-19 is ripping through. Hospitals are already overwhelmed and have waiting lists. Bodies must be buried within 24hrs so they have had...1/3 
To dig a mass grave outside of town to put the coffins in. Each family only gets 10 min at the gravesite to say goodbye until the next "funeral" Testing is scarce so there are only 185 confirmed Covid deaths but the average daily death toll in town has jumped from 30 to 100+.
Although the Amazon is not considered a hard hit area in Brazil, most people can neither miss days of work nor social distance. They have no safety net. Few people own masks. This virus is hitting them so hard. (There are private hospitals for the wealthy.)npr.org/sections/coron…
