Me : Me? The idea of mapping a competitive landscape, what a map is, how to actually do this, the evolution axis, the climatic patterns, the doctrine, the strategy cycle - all me. It's my gift to encourage others to find a better way.
Me : Pretty much. There were many helping hands i.e. @jamesaduncan but mostly it's just me and then me spending 15 years badgering others to map. Why?
Me : Oh, there are some. Others are writing them. I'm never very good at that.
Me : Ah, is that a patent conversation? I wouldn't say my work is original, maps are a very old idea. I've simply reapplied it to a different space and actually tried to create a map with anchor, position and movement. That's the bit I did.
Me : There's my book at medium.com/wardleymaps ... I'll complete it someday or maybe someone else will be kind enough to.
X : I mean a physical book?
Me : In the post isolation economy, will those be needed?
Me : Mapping? No. My form of mapping - yes, but ....
X : But?
Me : Sivowitche's Law. Whenever you think you've found someone that is first, the more you look the more you find someone else was more first. Does it matter? It's not important to me.
