Given my love of Dexter, my school fights & the fact I'm literally in police records due to a violent incident, I clearly don't object to violence when it's needed to protect others.
So hear me even I say escalating from non-threatening words to violence is always the wrong play!
I'm disappointed at how many people don't see that even if a racist deserves to be punched, punching them doesn't make the situation better.
*Anger always goes somewhere.*
If you punch him today, you endanger the next minority he meets tomorrow, who may not be able to fight back.
I will keep repeating till my fingers bleed:
What someone *deserves* and how they should be treated so that society can function positively are often VERY DIFFERENT THINGS!
For example:
Any reasonable person would conclude (from⬇️) that Boris recklessly pursued 1000s of deaths.
As far as I'm concerned, what he *deserves* isn't up for debate. But it's best for society that his punishment be STRICTLY political/social/judicial.
