A few COVID-19 statistics I'm watching, and cause for some (cautious) hopefulness:
First, US testing rates are finally ramping up. Need to make sure it sustains, and still not where they need to be, but finally moving in the right direction.

Second, the % of positive test results is finally going down. No doubt there are many more COVID-positive Americans than COVID positive tests, but this MAY mean we're expanding testing beyond the most urgent & symptomatic:
Meanwhile the mortality rate is still stubbornly high, but MAYBE plateauing. (Although confirmed deaths / confirmed cases has undercounts in the numerator and denominator, so don't make too much of this yet.)
We're far from out of the woods. But taken in combination, it provides some cautious optimism that the social distancing measures, while late, are working, at least nationally. To hope. /fin
