For a while, I've said "another, much worse, world is possible."

Covid is not going to trigger a renaissance, or advance your chosen set of social values in most places.

Countries with bad governments will manage covid poorly, short & long term.

Winter is coming. Food security

Because people will not snap out of their hypnotic haze and focus on the basics, we have missed every turn off to escape this road to dystopia.

Positive thinking is killing us.

We need planning. We need foresight. We need *effective action to mitigate predictable risks*.

Food.

The economy is catastrophically regearing. The internet - already deeply problematic because of mass surveillance - is now absolutely critical infrastructure.

Human rights are everywhere assaulted under omnibus legislation.

This is *not good* and orientation is required.

There is a good chance that the mother of all clusterfucks is building up in the global food supply chain.

If you think the solution to that in corrupt nations like US/UK is going to be equitable fair sharing, you are dreaming.

Auction pricing down to the last kipper.

Or what?

The "or what" is this. The governments are vulnerable to mass social pressure. If half a million people are continuously raising hell about food security issues, government will act - and those half million can network and build some parallel systems to help farmers get to market

But food is *utterly* unforgiving - if you don't plant, you starve. Can't harvest? You starve. Can't move it? Starve, and it rots.

We have to be taking effective action on the *real food situation NOW* if we are not to go hungry -poorest first- this winter.

Double for medicine.
