Try to avoid using words like “Stimulus”, “Relief” or “Reform”.

Consider “Economic Transfer”, “Legislative Gift” and “Regulatory Capture”.

Try an example: “The needed stimulus package offering immediate relief to major employers awaiting comprehensive immigration reform...”
Words like “Stimulus” are one word arguments. Why not do stimulus all the time? Why wait for crisis?

And who doesn’t like “Relief”?

I personally love relief. As I do “Reform”.

If you don’t run lobbyists or a news desk, ask yourself why you use terms like these from the news.
A suggestion: Whenever you hear words like these, clamp your hand over your wallet or purse and ask “who is is being incentivized to transfer what to whom?”

In a crisis we are all softened up to accept this language. But major players will take advantage of that, so be vigilant.
