Heck, £60,000 per death is probably cheaper than sourcing adequate PPE for the whole of the health service.

Not only that, but many NHS employees will fall under the "Death in Service" scheme anyway. So unless the £60K is separate on top of that entitlement, this sounds like a very cheeky rebrand rather than something significant.

Presumably they're counting on grieving families being so relieved at an expedited payment that they won't even start to dig into wider compensation issues.
