More on the government's arguments for not extending transition. Do they outweigh the UK not being ready to make huge changes in the midst of a pandemic? And the distraction answering the big questions of Brexit will be to the coronavirus handling?
Alternate view from the EU - the UK might be hoping the EU crumbles. My own view different again is that the UK government doesn't really have any kind of convincing post-Brexit narrative, so it is all about immediate political and messaging concerns.
The UK government's current Brexit strategy seems to be drift in the hope that something turns up in the coming months which means they don't have to break any commitments (e.g. to Northern Ireland, fishing fleets, Brexit-ultras, to get an EU FTA etc). prospectmagazine.co.uk/economics-and-…
