(1/3)While we have not really closed our economy, the measures we have taken to secure our health; although evidence based, measured and situationally appropriate, have had some level of unavoidably adverse economic impact.
(2/3) Our assessment so far is that the impact is temporary but that could easily change. The Government has to be constantly examining the situation and adjusting accordingly.
(3/3) If, however, we keep our businesses and economy operating significantly below capacity for much longer, we not only prolong the challenges for people whose jobs are affected by their employers’ uncertainties, but we risk the damage becoming permanent.
