Newsweek reports that the NIH gave the Wuhan lab $7 million to experimentally manipulate bat coronaviruses to make them better able to infect humans. The project started in 2014 and was renewed in 2019 and just canceled on April 24.

Fauci defended such work on bird flu by saying we would use it to be more *prepared* for a pandemic. Given how incompetently this one has been handled, this is disgraceful and preposterous.
There should be an international tribunal to fully investigate whether this played any role in the pandemic and if so the scientists involved in its promotion should have heavy charges put on them. The research should be banned under international law after this disaster.
