On this day six years ago I was snatched from a previous life in the UAE and taken to Al Sadr prison in Abu Dhabi with expulsion orders. It was the end of one life and the start of another, not just for me but for my entire family.
It was the morning after @Bassem_Sabry, with whom I had co-founded an activist's forum, fell to his death from his apartment in Egypt.
It's the heaviest date on my calendar and I always try to observe the date the best way I could. Remembering, honoring, mourning, celebrating, journaling, meditating, zooming out, getting closer. Some things are simply difficult to fathom.
