So, here is a tweet thread about booze... well, why not? It's one of the joys of lock down! I'll cover just the things I drink often...and where I can add value as they are less well known.

My fave rums:

1. Clement - Cuvee Homere, Martinique (clean, deep, unctuous)
2. Zacapa - XO, Guatemala (deep, rich, sweeter tones)
3. Flor de Caña - 12yr old, Nicaragua - world best all purpose rum
4. Appleton - 21yr old, Jamaica. Smooth, rich, orange peel tones

My fave Cava's: (I LOVE Cava having lived in Spain for 10 years and having a house there for 20 years)

1. Gramona Imperial
2. Recaredo Terrers Brut Nature Gran Reserva
3.Elyssia Pinto Noir Rosado
4. Segura Viudas Heradad
5. Juve Y Camps Brut Nature

My fave Champagne (Because... keto and I love it as I get older.. lower alcohol and clean = less rum hangovers)

1. Dom Perignon
2. Bollinger Rosé
3. Bollinger
4. Pol Roger Extra Brut
5. LPR - Laurent Perrier Rosé

My fave Rioja (all old skool, all very, very aged - the most underpriced very fine wines on earth. I collect these more than other wines).

1. Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva
2. La Rioja Alta Janus Gran Reserva
3. Imperial Gran Reserva
4. Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial

Vodka:

1. Russian Standard Gold
2. Anything but Teto's, which is basically cheap distilled corn syrup dressed up as hand crafted.

Other hidden gems:

1. Campari and Soda (love or hate thing)
2. Fernet Branca and coke (love or hate thing)
3. Hemingway Daiquiri (Like a normal Daiquiri but substitute grapefruit for lime)
4. Dark and Stormy (Rum and Ginger)
