The Supervisor's office is the authority on voter registration, yet his office claims he cannot identify outstanding LFOs.

Supervisor Bennett: "There’s no database in the state of FL to check all of the different court costs that might be outstanding."

Did you receive any guidance from the state about whether you should check for LFOs for people who register with felony convictions in Manatee County?

Supervisor Bennett: "Not that I’m aware of."

Since SB 7066, what does your office do to check LFOs before registering someone to vote?

Supervisor Bennett: "We basically take everybody at their word."

Is restitution the only legal financial obligation (LFO) you check for?

Supervisor Bennett: "Currently. Right now. That’s all we check for.

We aren’t trying to dig up all the fines and fees because the law is not clear on that."

Supervisor Bennett's office was responsible for removing our client, Latoya Moreland, from the voter roll.

Supervisor Bennett's office only reinstated Ms. Moreland only after she became a plaintiff in this case.

"We added her back on when we found out after the fact that she became party to the lawsuit..."

No one should have to join a lawsuit in order to be made eligible to vote.

Supervisor Bennett admitted to still not being 100% sure if Ms. Moreland is actually eligible to vote:

@Jennyhooo: Even though you are not 100% sure that she is eligible today you did reinstate her to the voter roll?

Sup. Bennett: "Yes, we did."

Dr Michael J. Barber was called as an expert witness in
American Legislative politics by the state of FL, but his reputation is wrought with instances where his opinion has been either thrown out or discredited in court.

Judge Hinkle: Did you see anything [in the polls] that indicated that the people of Florida thought it was okay to keep someone from voting just because they don’t have enough money?

Dr. Barber: “No I did not.”

During cross-examination, @rdanjuma of @ACLU calls the credibility of Dr. Barber's data into question.

Dr. Barber: "As I said earlier, I don't have access to the underlying data."

But Dr. Barber based his rebuttal to Dr. Kousser's findings on this data.

The 7 point increase in support for #Amendment4 that Dr. Barber estimated is based upon a *single* poll.

When asked by @rdanjuma if more polls are better when drawing conclusions, Dr. Barber responds, "that is always correct."

Although more accurate, recent data was available, Dr. Barber admitted to relying on older data for his analysis.
