What Biden said tonight at a fundraiser with Obama alumni about the Reade allegations: “my knowledge that it isn't true does nothing to shake my belief that women have to be able to be heard and that all the claims be taken seriously.” 
Biden said of Trump: “just about the worst possible person to handle a crisis like this. He seemed completely overwhelmed by it. He doesn't have a team, the temperament or, quite frankly, the moral authority to take it on.“
Biden on the armed protestors in Michigan: “Can you imagine? Can you imagine any former Republican president ... condoning people in the state capital, carrying AR 15s and semi-automatic weapons? ... the responsibility of meeting that threat falls to us.”
Biden said Obama’s running mate advice has been, “Find people who can make up for what you don't have as much experience in doing.”
Biden spoke about the experience of being accused of assault, and seeing the claims investigated: “I'm heartened to see it, although it's painful sometimes, that by and large journalists are doing what they're supposed to do.”
Notably, @ValerieJarrett at the beginning of the fundraising event made reference to the 2008 campaign doing “necessary background checks and vetting ... and guess who was at the top of that list at the end of it? Vice President Joe Biden.”
Meanwhile, campaign says 2,200 Obama alumni participated& raised $1M for Biden. Campaign manager @jomalleydillon and @davidplouffe said they are competitive in FL & AZ. She said “I am certain that states will be battleground states that haven’t been battleground states before.”
Plouffe said “I think the battleground state map has gotten broader – I think there’s more opportunity for Joe Biden than there was 60 days ago.”
Some might remember, though, that Plouffe predicted an Electoral College blowout for Clinton - which he has since apologized for.
