So many more meatpacking illnesses/deaths/horrible oversight details have emerged even since we published this huge investigation into one of the biggest a mere six hours ago.

Workers in meatpacking plants—sick or no—are being told to show up to work or risk being fired and/or deported.

Governors are abetting this slaughter of workers.

Do you need to eat meat? No.
If people who ate the meat faced the same risk as meatpackers, sales would plummet.

You know what will make meatpackers take worker health seriously? The same.
If you're not ready to go fully veggie/vegan, look for stores/butchers who sell local, sustainable meat. For example, here in SF, @gussmarket.
