Another excellent and careful referenced thread and article from @pmdfoster and the @FT about PPE, the changing guidance and what is available and what is safe.

Of course there’s a lot of explaining to do about the CV19 170+ dead health and social care staff in 8 weeks.
Link to the @NursingNotesUK site here.

How many Health and Social Care personnel dead feom CV in Germany & France (where there have been some naked protests!)

What about Ireland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Belgium, South Korea (similar in size to England), China, USA? Is anyone looking into this?

Sounds like perfect for excellent @FT data analysis issue to me

And a subject close to the heart of most people
If nearly 40% of people admitted with CV die (Liverpool study of c17000 patients, (31% of the 83% admitted to ordinary Covid wards and c 50% of the 17% admitted to ICU wards) then this suggests both infectious and lethal.

Imagine nursing/ treating that

Which of us, faced with the sheer onslaught of numbers and deaths, would not seek maximum protection? After all. Coughing, laughing, talking and breathing hard all seem to be aerosol generating.
And here we have a sad tale of the high death rate of Filipino healthcare workers - about 1 in 5 estimated here #BBCNewsnight . Too scared to object when put to work without what they feel is adequate protection.

Unlike in Cortugno hospital in Southern Italy where no healthcare worker has been infected let alone died. Used to dealing with infectious patients (TB/HIV) super strict infectious control and PPE.
