A pretty big study. Looked not just at the comorbidities of nearly 7k Italians but also a smaller sample of Scottish victims.
Then compared it to the data of 850k Welsh people to work out life expectancy of those with same conditions - no Covid.

But - no - most would NOT have died anyway but for COVID.

Those who died in care homes who may be frailer were not included in the study.
But looking at the excess deaths in care home and comparative mortality rates should give some sense of the COVID weighing there too.
