Trumpster stupidity knows no limits. At the IL anti-lockdown protest, some folks had signs that read "Arbeit Macht Frei" (roughly, "Work Sets You Free"), along w/ swastikas & "Heil Pritzker" so as to equate lockdown orders with Nazism & the Gov w/Hitler

2/ Aside from the offensiveness & ignorance of equating not being able to go to a sit down restaurant w/being sent to a death camp, there's another bit of dumbshittery worth noting, in terms of knowing history & understanding analogies, neither of which right wingers do well..
3/ Namely, when the Nazis put that slogan over the entrance to Auschwitz, it was a ruse. They wanted prisoners to think it was a work camp. But they weren't gong to work, they were going to die. Meaning, it is the fucking OPEN IT UP assholes who are the Nazis in this scenario...
4/ They are the ones insisting "work makes you free" as they demand the right to go to work in the name of the economy, thereby risking lives...they are the ones fooling people into thinking it's safe. Why can't these fuckers spend quarantine time reading a book?
5/ These are the same assholes who called Obama a communist for having various so-called "czars" for certain policies (he didn't really but they called them that)...but the czars weren't communists...the czars were who the Bolsheviks killed you stupid fucks...
6/ These are the same people who equate folks who support women's reproductive freedom to slaveowners, bc "just as the slaveowners said blacks weren't human, pro-choice folks think the fetus isn't either..." But no, dumbass, that's not how analogies work...
7/ Slavery was about forcing another person to labor against their will for the benefit of someone else...so if anyone is the slaveowner in that scenario it's the person who says women should have to carry the developing fetus for 9 months against her will...
8/ It's the anti-choice folks who would make women indentured servants or slaves for the benefit of the potential child, or the state. Please know, I'm not saying anti-choice folks are literal slavers or that Trumpsters are literal Nazis. But in THEIR analogies they sure are..
9/ So what all this reveals is just more evidence that American schools are failing us: failing to teach millions of people history & how to construct basic analogies...ya know, feel free to be a right winger, but at least be smart...stupid fascists are really annoying as hell...
