The gist: if there are extra dimensions of space (beyond the usual 3), then sometimes tiny black holes can form when particles collide at high energy. Those would quickly evaporate, but if they do so inside a big neutrino detector, they can produce distinct signatures in the data
(A quick note about authorship here: in particle physics, authorship is generally alphabetical, not a judgment of contributions. In this case, Ningqiang and Aaron really did the heavy lifting on the simulations and analysis. They are great collaborators to work with!)
