Awareness rose the week of Feb 24.
It was reported as an overseas story, often with the tagline "Coronapanic" telegraaf.nl/nieuws/8782973…
Volkskrant headline: "Italian Coronapanic: yesterday someone sneezed on the Metro, half the people got up and moved" volkskrant.nl/nieuws-achterg…
Feb 27: first diagnosis in NL.
Explainer articles tended to play down the risks:
"the Coronavirus is not very contagious via the air"
"the chance of dying from the new virus is not very high statistically"

Extraordinary times.
Italy's draft emergency Coronavirus law to ban entry and exit to whole of Lombardy region - capital Milan- Venice, Padua, Parma & 8 others.
Weddings and funerals banned. Cinemas, gyms, pubs, museums all closed.
Anyone violating law can be arrested and fined.
Establishments that can stay open, such as places of worship, supermarkets, and restaurants, can only do so if they can guarantee a distance of minimum one metre between all visitors. If they cannot they will be closed
Supermarkets etc only allowed to open in the week; all closed on weekends.
Leave for all health workers suspended.
