We need to take lessons

1. We always rush in to do room interventions especially if so called civilian is involved. But often these are traps or overground workers of terrorists or just plain sympathisers. Later they will be found stone pelting

1/n
2. Room interventions are very risky. You don't know the house layout, where the enemy is, who the enemy is. Casualties are inevitable. No army does room interventions as much as we do. Stand off ops are better even if there is some collateral damage

2/n
3. Don't put pressure on commander on ground to rush the op for results. Take as much time as needed...4/5/6/7/8 days. The terrorists are trapped. Starve them out. Let them make a fighting break out. Then we can pick them off without own casualties

3/n
4. Even if you absolutely have to do room intervention don't do it as a composite team of 2 different forces - 21 RR and JKP SOG in this case. Reciepe for disaster as co-ordination under fire in an unknown, unfamiliar place can spell disaster

4/n
5. Room intervention is for highly trained, coordinated, young team with very sharp reflexes. CO however brave should not be leading this. Same CO who can lead very effectively from front in conventional war can never be good enough for room intervention. Harsh truth
6. This loss was a result of our misplaced priorities - we rush in to save 1 so called civilians because we do not value lives of troops and officers. Pressure is put on commanders on ground for quick results which leads to disaster. We have handed Pak a big propoganda victory
7. Lastly, we have to take the war to Pak in their territory. Not by one surgical strike or Balakot as a response to their attack but as a proactive planned series of operations to destroy the Pak army. That will take another thread.

All I can say now is Om Shanti for my braves
