2/ It is abundantly clear here that gender is defined in terms of sex-based stereotypes. And gender identity is defined as the stereotype (i.e. gender) one wishes to express.
3/ And here they go into more detail about what it means to be cis/transgender which, according to *their own* definitions of gender and gender identity above, can *only* mean the desire to adopt the stereotypical expressions of the opposite sex.
4/ Given these definitions, is it any wonder why so many young people now claim trans and/or non-binary (a subset of trans) identities? According to these definitions, most if not all people are trans, since we're not all perfect stereotypes of masculinity and femininity.
5/ And most of us likely take issue with and actively attempt to buck many of the "expectations from society about behaviors, characteristics, and thoughts" (i.e. stereotypes) that are associated with our sex. That doesn't make us trans, that's just normal human variation.
6/ The denunciation of traditional gender roles or the affinity to the roles stereotypical of the opposite sex are *not* the same thing as gender dysphoria, which is a debilitating psychological condition and deep-seated conviction that one is not the sex they should have been.
7/ This confusion is causing us to apply invasive medical procedures developed to treat a serious psychological condition to a new group of individuals who simply don't identify with the stereotypes associated with their sex and seek a reprieve from societal pressure to conform.
8/ Just a closing remark. This thread isn't meant as an attack on Planned Parenthood per se. I think they provide invaluable medical services to many women and girls. I am attacking this regressive gender ideology, which greatly harms PP's image as a valuable service.
