Yet again, a federal judge has ruled that when President Trump tweets on matters of national security, you can't be sure that he knows what he's tweeting about.
From our lawsuit with @JMadisonProject for information from the @carterwpage FISA applications. The gov't says some info is redacted for national security reasons. Trump said it was done in bad-faith and was a cover-up. The judge here trusts the agencies, not the president.
As @ganjansen noted, Trump's administration "has repeatedly, and successfully, urged federal judges to find that his comments are not reason enough to force the government to give up documents that would confirm whether what he is saying is true."

The upshot of all this is that the remainder of DOJ's applications for FISA surveillance of @carterwpage will remain secret. The court granted the government's motion for summary judgment.

Coda: FISA applications are among the government's deepest secrets. Normally, a FOIA for one of those would be snuffed out in no time. @BradMossEsq and @MarkSZaidEsq litigated this one for three years, and, for the first time, the public saw part of an application. Huge thanks!
