The "pro-life" community has always squared the obvious logical conundrum of many of its members being pro dealth penalty as a question about innocence. (Really, it's about race.)

Of course reporting on the racial disparities in the victims (so far!) of COVID-19 is super important.
But I do wonder if the "coronavirus has disproportionate effects in POC communities" has helped fuel the "re-open America" movement.

This, of course, is likely to backfire. COVID doesn't care if you're black or white. Vulnerable white communities—be they in nursing homes or poor rural areas with essentially no hospitals—are just as vulnerable as POC communities.
