Unified Command: We are aware of an event that's being promoted publicly on social media, advertising a gathering and march tonight at 8 p.m. at Arbor Lodge Park in North Portland. Arbor Lodge Park is located near N. Delaware Ave. and N. Bryant Street...
We want the public to be aware of the event and the likelihood for potential impacts to traffic in the area. The march is not permitted, and we ask those who participate to stay on the sidewalks and obey all traffic rules and laws...
The event is being promoted as not welcoming to live streamers, which is an indication that there may be some who intend to engage in criminal activity. We ask businesses and residents in the area to secure items that could be taken and used as barricades or material for burning.

Failure to adhere to this order may subject you to arrest, citation, or crowd control agents, including, but not limited to, tear gas and/or impact weapons.
Unified Command: At 9pm, individuals participating in a march from Director Park arrived at the PSU Public Safety Office. Some individuals broke windows to the Public Safety Office, and then turned their attention to the Starbucks at 1717 SW Park...
...Individuals smashed windows and poured flammable liquid inside the business. Officers interrupted a potential arson. This gathering is still declared an unlawful assembly due to criminal activity occurring. Disperse to the south and west.

(1/) MCSO and @ORStatePolice are committed to the safety and well-being of the communities we serve. We strongly support the right to demonstrate and for people to use their individual and collective voices to express grief, outrage and a call for action.
(2/) Protests are among the most difficult events to manage in policing today. Police have a responsibility to safeguard the right of people to assemble and engage in free speech, while balancing other rights guaranteed in our Constitution...
(3/) ...including maintaining public order by preventing criminal behavior, such as assaults, rioting, arson and other illegal activity.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is aware of an event tonight calling for a gathering outside Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center in Northeast Portland. We ask that this event remains peaceful.
The Donald E. Long Center is much more than a corrections facility, it houses youth, provides care, custody and outreach services, and is where juvenile courts are located in Multnomah County.
MCSO is responsible for the safety and security of the youth living inside, Department of Community Justice employees who provide rehabilitative services and the safety and well-being of the surrounding community.
