We have been hearing an argument from many Right Wingers that public display of Hindu festivals like Ganpati Visarjan is allowed because it only happens once an year and public Azan shouldn't be allowed because it happens 5 times daily. Here's a counter thread to that :
First we make a clarification that we are not against this statement, we are merely against the reasons cited. So let's begin.
1. India is the holy land for Hindus, we have Kashi,Mathura, Haridwar, Kanchi etc here. If we don't celebrate our festivals here, where shall we ?

2. Islam is a religion that by its mere existence is a threat to Hinduism. The Azan states nothing but the fact that all religions including Hinduism is false except Islam. Even if this is shouted once in a century, this shouldn't be allowed.
3. Another reason cited is that Hindu festivals generate huge amounts of wealth hence should be promoted. So what if in future Hindu festivals start requiring money from the state, shall we stop celebrating them ? Shall we start shouting Azam if it generates vast wealth ?
To conclude, Ganpati Visarjan on road is allowed because it's a Hindu festival while Azan shouldn't be because it's an anti-Hindu warcry.
