INS Jalashwa of @indiannavy arrived off the port of Male, on 07 May 2020, to evacuate Indian citizens stranded at Maldives during ongoing #COVID19 pandemic. This ship is part of Operation #OpSamudraSetu launched by Indian Navy to bring back Indian citizens from foreign shores.
INS Jalashwa, @indiannavy Landing Platform Dock (LPD) with capacity to generate 3MW of electrical power, 60,000 gallons (212 tons) of fresh water a day and extensive medical facilities, is ideally suited to undertake Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions
The ship has adequate relief and #COVID19 protection material, along with on-board medical and administrative support staff, including women personnel.
During their transit back to India, #INSJalashwa will have zones, in order to prevent intermingling of crew with the evacuees. ImageImageImage

Huge! Raksha Mantri announces successful flight testing of Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator vehicle (HSTDV) which uses an indigenous scramjet engine.

The successful test of the HSTDV/scramjet engine now paves the way for development of long range hypersonic missiles, hypersonic drones and high speed civilian transport.

MT New Diamond Update

INS Sahyadri is closely monitoring fire-fighting efforts on the MT New Diamond currently 70 km away from Sri Lankan coast. ImageImageImage
Additional assets including Emergency Towing Vessel Ocean Bliss have been pushed into service.

Flames are still visible with smoke emanating from superstructure from aerial reconnaissance.

Commander of INS Sahyadri reports fire on MT New Diamond under control.

Aerial reconnaissance is being undertaken to assess present situation, to be followed by boarding of ship.

Ministry Of Defence yesterday signed contracts worth ₹ 2580 Crore for supply of Six Pinaka Regiments to the Artillery Regiments of Indian Army with Bharat Earth Movers Ltd, Tata Power Ltd. (TPCL) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T). Image
The Six Pinaka Regiments comprise 114 Launchers with Automated Gun Aiming & Positioning System (AGAPS) and 45 Command Posts to be procured from TPCL and L&T and 330 Vehicles to be procured from BEML. Image
These Six Pinaka Regiments will be operationalised along the Northern and Eastern Borders of India, further enhancing operational preparedness of the Armed Forces. The induction of Six Pinaka Regiments is planned to be completed by 2024. Image
