Impartial justice is based on facts and the law. #TrumpJustice is based on @realDonaldTrump’s political desires. He has repeatedly expressed his support for Flynn. He has long considered a pardon for him. He said on 4/30 that Flynn was “exonerated.” Now, we come to today.
#TrumpJustice looks like this: His former favored aide, Flynn, admitted he lied to the FBI, pleaded guilty—but Trump, who has called himself “the chief law enforcement officer of the country,” lobbied for Flynn publicly, and the Barr DOJ eventually dropped its case. 🧐
In a functioning democracy, law enforcement serves the interests of the people, not the interests of the leader. AG Barr’s willingness to use the Department of Justice as an arm of @realDonaldTrump’s political agenda is a dangerous sign for our country.
