I agree with Gore, except I'd add that this has been a botched PANDEMIC RESPONSE dating back to (no typo) NOVEMBER 2019, when Trump ignored multiple intel reports from multiple intel agencies because he was "friends" with Xi Jinping and Xi had just given him secret dirt on Biden.
SOURCES: ABC NEWS and THE TIMES OF ISRAEL. If you don't know that major media has reported that the Trump administration was told in November—repeatedly, at the highest level, with great urgency—that a virus was coming from China, you must increase your COVID-19 news consumption.
SOURCES (re: "secret dirt on Biden"): THE DAILY BEAST and FINANCIAL TIMES. I want to underscore here what most of you already know: *all* my sources are major media. Folks on the right read anonymous Twitter accounts, anonymous blogs and pseudo-journalism. I curate *major media*.

(THREAD) It's long been *central* to conservative jurisprudence and legislative philosophy that if you don't like an act of Congress, don't ignore it—have Congress amend or abolish it. The on-the-books Logan Act has led to multiple indictments—yet the GOP *now* says "ignore it." Image
1/ For now, let's put aside 3 *critical* facts:

1⃣ Trump has publicly supported the use of the Logan Act for criminal investigations.

2⃣ The FBI was also investigating Flynn for criminal FARA violations.

3⃣ The FBI counterintelligence probe of Flynn justified questioning him.
2/ The GOP doesn't want you to remember that its leader supports the use of the Logan Act to criminally investigate executive-branch officials. The GOP doesn't want you to remember that Flynn was a Turkish agent in the midst of U.S. government being investigated on those grounds.

So #CandaceOwens went from calling Arbery a "repeat burglar" (burglary is a felony) known to be such—with proof—to the men who hunted and killed him to calling him a onetime trespasser (a noncriminal violation without posted signage) in seconds flat.

The Devil's advocate indeed.
PS/ Having tried felonies for years, one thing I know is that politics should stay far away from criminal justice—any case, any time—until all the evidence is in and a verdict rendered. *Unless* intervention is needed to demand a full and fair investigation in the first instance.
PS2/ @RealCandaceO is a performer—so there'll always be a kernel of value in whatever she turns into a turd sandwich. Here she ignores that outrage was needed to demand an investigation in favor of focusing on the fact that too many non-experts comment on criminal cases pretrial.
