I start with a disclaimer that I have no conflict of interest other than being pro Europe and having voted for Luciana Berger against the Tory sitting candidate.

I believe that all the ministers and scientists we see at press conferences are equally well motivated as any of the virtue signalling critics on Twitter who seek power without responsibility. The burden of responsibility of HMG must be back breaking./3
They are human and like us prone to error. They look as if they are working day and night to save lives whilst balancing the economy during lock down. A few of them have even suffered near death experiences from the corona virus./4
At all times they remain polite and respectful and never blame others when things appear to go wrong. The debacle with PPE wasn't for want of trying but I had to try other sources to learn of the chicanery, piracy and profiteering that followed the global shortage of PPE/5
Mat Hancock accepted responsibility for the tragic outcomes of this plague in care homes and promised to try harder without mentioning that 84% of these facilities are in the private sector.

HMG are daily accused of being responsible for the highest death rate from the COVID-19 in Europe whilst forgetting (or never learning) that this is a meaningless metric. Only all cause mortality corrected for age and population density can rank our team in the COVID cup league/8
In due course they will be tested and found wanting when the final tally comes through in a year or two, through the power of the retropectoscope, but no one can question their motives, unless of course they wish to make political capital out of this human tragedy./END
