Today someone working in global strategic communication wrote that the EU argument that proximity matters in international trade was just an excuse and that in the modern world geography is irrelevant for trade (1/3)
My first thought was “maybe if you are working in global strategic communication you can believe that”. But then I looked at the website of the employer of the guy making the argument. The German website pointed to the firm’s 7 (!) offices in Europe and stated ... (2/3)
”We are, where our clients need us.” (3 of their offices are in Germany alone at different locations). So I was wrong. Even for firms in global strategic communications geography matters so much that they make location a selling point. (3/3)
Postscript: This is not a tweet about LPF. But about strange arguments. If you really think geography no longer matters in trade - particularly these days - travel from France to London to do repair work on factory equipment. Good luck.
