It’s product Thionyl chloride is a component of lithium thionyl chloride batteries where it acts as positive electrode and lithium as negative electrode , Adv of this battery - long operation life span and long storage but high cost,
This battery uses is increasing because of increasing sales of hand held or wireless device- Thionyl chloride is an important intermediary of organic chemistry. It is also used in medicine, dyes, pesticides, and synthesis industry as a chlorinating agent.
Contribution of pesticide industry is a major part for use of thionyl chloride and generally used for the production of inabenfide, flucythrinate, diflubenzuron, valerate, fenvalerate, mosquito-killing dimerthrin, isocarbophos, oxazolidinone, quizalofop, fenpropathrin, endosulfan
Endusulfan is banned in many countries, from AR it is not clear its production capacity of thionyl chloride and revenue split and any future capex
Acid and alkyl chloride market is the segment where company is looking for opportunities to grow and growing also and products and derivatives used in various industries but after reading AR I think company is focused more in polymer and flavour and fragrance industries
Transpek started supplying to most of aramid manufacture , aramid is heat resistant fibre and extremely strong , used in military , aerospace, automobiles .
DuPont in 2018 started taking isophthaloyl chloride and terephthaloyl chloride- for manufacturing Kevlar and nomex ( type of Aramid fibers)which indicate credibility and quality of transpek
Kevlar has many applications, ranging from bicycle tires and racing sails to bulletproof vests, because of its high tensile strength-to-weight ratio; by this measure it is five times stronger than steel.It also ( please search on web for Kevlar uses )
Revenue from DuPont was I think was major revenue boost for company , in AR North America business was jumped from 181 Cr to 429 Cr and domestic business is almost stagnant, although its a long term contract but still I feel that company should diversify business to other clients
Transpek announced 120!cr capex in feb 2020 ( I don’t know exact details)
Major growth was there in last 2 yrs only probably because of long term contract with DuPont , now new capex May be future growth driver and low crude price can be added advantage.

Best thing in company is credibility and quality and that’s why I am positive on transpek but only long term view .

Their new capex is coming in Vizag at 120 Cr but I don’t know which chemical they will manufacture.
