Imagine this: You’ve lived in your hometown for decades, surrounded by your family and friends. But one day, gun-toting militias show up. You flee in terror. Then another family moves into your house--and you are banned from returning. #Nakba72
Land theft and forced displacement was only the beginning. Zionist militias looted tens of thousands of books, paintings, musical recordings, furniture, and other Palestinian homes, libraries, and government offices. #Nakba72middleeasteye.net/big-story/stea…

BREAKING: A lynch mob of Israeli settlers just killed a 23 year-old US citizen – Saif-Aldin Musalat.
The settlers invaded the Palestinian town of Sinjel in the West Bank and beat Saif to death. They then intentionally blocked an ambulance from reaching Saif in time to save him.
Saif is a Palestinian American from Tampa who was in Palestine to visit his family.
He is one of hundreds of Palestinians, and several US citizens, killed by violent Israeli settlers just the past few years alone.
Israeli settler mobs are lynching Palestinians more frequently – with full support from Israel's army and government.
These settlers invade and brutalize Palestinian communities to force them out of their homes – so that Israel can steal their land for more illegal settlements.
URGENT: The Israeli military has kidnapped all members aboard the Freedom Flotilla’s Madleen aid ship, including activist Greta Thunberg.
Communication with the group has been completely cut off.
The Freedom Flotilla coalition set sail for Gaza with the goal of delivering life-saving aid and breaking Israel’s siege. Israel is currently starving Gaza’s entire population, nearly half of whom are children.
Just hours before the ship reached Gaza, the Israeli military surrounded the Madleen with quadcopters and boats, sprayed the ship with an irritating white substance, and then illegally boarded and kidnapped all 12 human rights defenders on board.
THREAD: Today marks 58 years since Israel occupied the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem.
On June 5, 1967, Israel violently occupied the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, forcing at least 300,000 Palestinians out of their homes.
Israeli soldiers destroyed hundreds of towns and thousands of Palestinian homes. Soon after, Israel began building Israeli-only settlements on the land it stole from Palestinian families.
THREAD: What you should know about the Nakba this Nakba Day ⬇️
77 years ago, a horrific event forever changed the lives of Palestinians.
In 1948, armed militias invaded towns and neighborhoods across Palestine, massacring families & forcing the majority of Palestinians to flee their homes.
Palestinians call this the Nakba, Arabic for the “catastrophe.”
Before the Nakba, Palestine was a vibrant place, where Palestinians of many faiths lived in harmony as friends and neighbors.

This powerful documentary follows Palestinian journalist and co-director @Basel_Adra and his hometown of Masafer Yatta—a rural community where Israel has been violently forcing Palestinian families out of their homes for decades.
Basel began filming as a teenager—capturing Israel’s violent attacks on his neighbors, his home, and his family.
This isn’t just a story about the past. It documents an ongoing struggle—for dignity, for land, and for survival.
THREAD: An immigration judge found Mahmoud Khalil “deportable” last week—but the fight isn’t over. Here’s what you should know about his legal case.
Mahmoud Khalil is a Columbia graduate who ICE agents abducted from his home in March because of his vocal opposition to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Mahmoud was the first of many students abducted by ICE over their speech in support of Palestinian freedom.
The US government is keeping Mahmoud in an ICE detention center in Louisiana, over 1,000 miles away from his wife Dr. Noor Abdulla, who is 9 months pregnant with their first child.
