🚨 THREAD: Israel is killing first responders with impunity. After Israeli soldiers began attacking Palestinians in Rafah in March, a group of first responders were dispatched to the area to rescue the injured. Upon arrival, Israeli soldiers shot and killed them.

On this day in 1976, Palestinians united in protest against Israel after it announced plans to steal thousands of acres of land from Palestinian citizens of Israel. Land Day marked the first major protest held by Palestinians across all of their historic homeland. Israel responded with brutal violence, curfews, and arrests, killing 6 Palestinians.

THREAD: Israel has a history of violating ceasefire agreements

As Israel resumes its genocide in Gaza, it’s important to remember that it has a well-documented history of breaking ceasefires. Here are just some examples ⬇️ ❌2008: In the midst of a several-month ceasefire, Israeli soldiers invade the Gaza town of Deir al-Balah and kill 6 Palestinians.

THREAD: Israel destroyed the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital—the only facility providing cancer care in Gaza.

This isn’t the first time Israel bombed the hospital. In Oct. 2023, it damaged the facility. Palestinians with cancer in Gaza are left with nowhere to turn. Israel is deliberately dismantling Gaza’s healthcare system.

It bombs hospitals, kills healthcare workers, blocks medicine, and destroys clinics–leaving Palestinians without treatment as disease spreads, starvation worsens, and people suffer.

THREAD: Israel has once again cut off all food and aid to millions of Palestinians in Gaza, violating the current ceasefire agreement in order to prevent a real, permanent ceasefire.

Using starvation as a weapon is a war crime. Israel is starving Palestinians to force an extension of Phase 1 of the ceasefire. Phase 2 requires Israel to completely withdraw its army from Gaza and declare a permanent ceasefire.

Phase 2 should have begun already – but Israel is starving Palestinians to stop it.

On Saturday, Trump said he wanted to “clean out” Gaza by forcing over a million Palestinians who live there into Egypt and Jordan. That’s ethnic cleansing, or the systematic forced removal of an ethnic, racial, or religious group from an area.

THREAD: Israel has already violated the ceasefire in Gaza. The international community must ensure Israel abides by the ceasefire going forward. The day after the Gaza ceasefire went into effect, an Israeli sniper shot and killed a Palestinian child named Zakaria as he was returning to his home in Rafah. The Israeli soldier then shot at a man who tried to reach Zakaria’s body.
