Here is something that I want to share.

1) Hindu Scriptures give certain privileges to Brahmin in comparison to the remaining three Varnas. But these privileges are conditioned on certain restrictions imposed on Brahmins
1/
2) In an ideal situation eg a true Hindu king and his rule, things worked fine. As time passed, India got colonized and the state no longer had Hindu character, many forms of distortions crept in the Hindu society with lower Varnas becoming the worst victim of it.
2/
3)Another wave of colonization came and priestly class of this new colonial regime sees Brahmin as their main opposition, they start blaming sufferings of the Hindu society on the Brahmin in a very intelligent manner by correlating practices of the Brahmin and privileges1+
3/
sanctioned by Scriptures (mentioned abv).
4) Meanwhile, a prolonged period of colonization forced Brahmin to take other means of livelihood. He lives lifestyle of his ancestors to the best of his capacity sanctioned by Scriptures (mentioned abv).
4/
5) A section of Brahmins took to the service of the colonizer and flourished (relative to the rest of the natives). Descendents of this class of Brahmin has strong sense of pride in this colonial legacy of their forefathers.
5/
6) At this point, there exists three categories of Brahmin.
a) Brahmin of yore (confined to the rural side of least colonial influence) still living per old lifestyle.
b) Brahmin of #4 abv
c) Brahmin of #5 abv
6/
7) A political movement emerges where #4 and #5 mentioned abv plays leading roles. Nominal freedom is won with Brahmin of #5 in charge of power and Brahmin of #4 in a secondary role.
7/
8) Despite this so-called freedom, there is no respite for the Brahmin of #6-a in terms of his vilification.
Indian State fully under the control of Brahmin of #5 abv and backed by Colonial master (now back to his home) continues the propaganda against Brahmin of #6-a
8/
9) Time flies by and Brahmin of #5 abv gets dislodged from the power by non-Brahmin parties and leaders all across the political spectrum of India but the demonization of Brahmin of #6-a continues.
9/
10) Just after the freedom mentioned #7 abv, Brahmin of #4 abv, parted its ways from Brahmin of #5 abv. It managed to capture power after a long fought political battle turning politics of India RW way.
10/
But even this Brahmin of #4 , now with political power in hand, is incapable of stopping the vilification of Brahmin of #6-a abv originally started by the priest of the colonial master.
11/
11) Another thing that happened is that descendant of Brahmin of #5, politically irrelevant after the loss of power from the hands of Brahmin of #5 abv, all joined RW stream of Brahmin of #4.
12/
Now, it is at this point a non-Brahmin like me is faced with the task of defending Hinduism against the charges (which have now been turned into a fact in the minds of Hindu masses) of the priest of the colonizer.
13/
And let me remind you that one can't defend Hinduism without defending the Brahmin.

Obviously to defend the Brahmin of Scriptures (6-a type)
against the charge of privileges (by the priest of colonizer) one will have to remind of the restrictions imposed by the Scriptures.
Because it was deliberate on the part of the priest of the colonizer to mention only the privileges and not the restrictions imposed by Scriptures on the Brahmin.
14/
But the moment you do that, It's the descendants of Brahmin of #5, now RW, Trad, Rayta or what not, jump in front of you accusing you of being anti-Brahmin. 😊
15/
Arre Bhai, Why do you call me anti-Brahmin? Only if you could recognize your own fall (from being a Brahmin) or at least you had read writings of your sage ancestors, you wouldn't be calling me anti-Brahmin.
16/16
The most funny part is that present-day descendants of Brahmin #5 have aren't even aware of the existence of Brahmin #6-a, let alone having any connection with them.
1/2
So what basically they defend on the name of defending Brahmin is nothing but the colonial legacy of their forefathers. 2/2

2/2
I am not even asking or expect from the Brahmins of the three categories mentioned abv to do as stated here.
1/2

I merely quote lifestyle restrictions on Brahmin mentioned in Smriti texts as a counter to the Padre charges of exploitation and these so-called defenders of Brahmins (of category #5), probably only thing Brahmin abt them is their last name, appear.😊

While talking about double distilled Raibahaduri class SR Goel said:

"The only thing that could be said in their favor was that, for one reason or the other, they did not convert to Islam and merge themselves completely in Muslim society.
1/2
But for the same reason, they had become Trojan horses of Islamic imperialism and worked for pulling down the cultural defenses of their own people."

Abv applies to the tribal Abrahamic defense of Brahmin by Brahmin #5 category mentioned in abv tweets.

No idea. Main to ye maan ke karta hoon.

"हरितोषन ब्रत द्विज सेवकाई ॥" ~ श्रीरामचरितमानस
(द्विजों की सेवा ही भगवान्‌ को प्रसन्न करने वाला व्रत है। )

But I end up offending namesake Brahmins. 😉
