Wait ... is @justinamash arguing that ... scientists/epidemiologists tracking and fighting pandemics shouldn't make ... any public health recommendations unless they know his favorite food and his day-to-day feelings? Also he wants to be PRESIDENT, right?
Would love to know from the epidemiologists who battled ebola whether they needed this kind of information to beat back that incredibly deadly pandemic or whether these factors (food preferences and feelings and such) came into play when the U.S. led the fight to eradicate polio.

When you hear people trash the culture, it’s generally because they feel disincluded from the culture. There is a thing called “cultural cool” and it used to mean John Wayne and such, but it came to mean Little Richard / rock-n-roll & Prince, long hair, Afros, ballers & hip hop.
And it often emerged from black culture, initially outright appropriated during the 1950s by Pat Boone etal but unable to be kept from white teenagers who eventually went straight to the source. Ditto jazz a generation before.
The inability to command the culture is part of why conservatives are so pissed off, even when they command much of the government. They cannot bring the culture to heel. And President @BarackObama Obama and @MichelleObama are embraced by the culture in a way the Trumps are not.

The most important thing happening in America is 80,000-plus people are dead and more than 1 million infected...(or if you ask Republicans: the Obama administration had the unmitigated GALL to investigate when they realized our adversary, Russia was attacking the 2016 election.)
The absolute desperation of the second of our two sole major political parties to distract from the MOST IMPORTANT THING HAPPENING IN AMERICA; to evade the urgency of halting this relentless disease and death, is proof that they have no plan to stop it; and clearly no real will.
That may be the saddest realization you can possibly come to about a party -- that it is both functionally and morally decrepit; that it is bereft of not just competence, but even of a decent concern for the human beings they purport to govern. Instead, power is all that matters.
