The Tories have been in power since 7 May 2010.

They oversaw...
- underfunding of the NHS
- depletion of the national emergency stockpile
- hostile immigration environment, made worse by Brexit (and resulting loss of EU workers in key roles)
- Exercise Cygnus, and follow-up

- wage stagnation for key workers, while corporations got richer and richer
- drastic cuts in local authority funding
- exit from health collaborations with the EU
- Coronavirus pandemic

It's THEIR fault.

- testing soil stability
- speccing building materials and standards
- building the thing
- snagging to pick up construction faults
- remedial work
- maintenance

Theresa May's unnecessary General Election was disastrous.

Eventually, it will come to seem like a stroke of genius compared to Boris Johnson's December 2019 disaster.

By virtue of his thumping majority, the Tories now own 100.00% of both Brexit, and the coronavirus response!
I will forever be unhappy and angry about Brexit. But I feel more positive than I did in early December 2019. (That's not saying much!)

Not because Brexit will be a success. It can't be, for all the reasons I laid out in my book. But because now ALL blame lies with the Tories.
If we have to have Brexit - and the last few years made that a sad inevitability that was realised on 31 January 2020 - at least we have it with no hiding place for the culprits to scuttle off to.

This is how the BBC cultivates bias in the name of fairness. Two headlines from same article, a couple of hours apart...

There is no question in either version that Nadine Dorries did what she did. Yet the "accused" introduces a second side to a one-sided story. 1/3

But facts don't have two sides. They're facts!

By stating Nadine Dorries was "accused" of something, the BBC made it a "he said/she said" story. And people shrug.

Why not say "Minister Nadine Dorries spread 'fake news' about Labour leader"? That's accurate, and honest too.

They pulled this sort of stunt for decades when it came to climate change, only recently changing approach.

It's still going on in the Brexit arena, as it has since before the June 2016 referendum (I covered this in a bit more detail in my book "Slaying Brexit Unicorns")

A lot of people are being accused of politicising the coronavirus crisis.

But given that the Tories have had an iron grip on power, by virtue of their overwhelming majority, every single second of this emergency, it's hard not to conclude they have sole responsibility!
I am sure the Opposition and other key players would love to be able to exercise a steadying influence, but current Parliamentary arithmetic reduces them to bystanders just like all the rest of us.

We're all lashed to the mast of the ship as the Tories spin the wheel.
