Kawasaki CV19 illness infecting 370 children thus far has caused up to 70% to require intensive care admission - 14 times higher than normal Kawasaki disease. It’s much more severe toxic shock than Kawasaki. 20% end up on ventilators. Paediatric Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome
University of Birmingham researchers have confirmed the link between Coronavirus & Kawasaki type toxic shock in kids. The CV19 tests kept returning negatives so researchers tried antibody tests instead. The kids had contracted Coronavirus weeks ago.

•UK CV19+ Kids = 2% of CV+ population
•That equals 5,000 (with 500 hospitalised)
•It means only 5 UK Kids should have Kawasaki (PIMS)

Either Kawasaki PIMS contraction chances are higher odds than 1,000/1 or UK Coronavirus Infections among kids is 20 times higher than thought. Most likely reality is a bit of both namely that chances of CV19 progression to PIMS is much higher than thought & more kids are CV19+

A second report notes that black children seem to be particularly impacted by Kawasaki type toxic shock linked to Coronavirus. Reports also mention that the children tend to be larger - not necessarily carrying fat. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
