1/27 Sadly the Bærum mosque shooting in Oslo in August 2019 is mostly missing on the lists of far-right terror attacks in news articles. If reported the death count ist stated at 0. But he killed his 17-year-old sister Johanne Zhangjia out of racist motivations.
2/27 If you report about Christchurch, Poway, El Paso and Halle, you have to talk about Oslo. He:
▪️ posted on imageboards
▪️ cited Christchurch as motivation
▪️ tried to live-stream the attack
▪️ tried to use terror to polarize Norway
▪️ flashed the OK sign in court
3/27 He is on trial at the moment, you can learn a lot about him from @b9AcE thread about it. I will highlight some aspects here:
How He Radicalized:
4/27 He wasn't always a Nazi, he had an emo phase, was a vegan for a year and had both girlfriend & boyfriend:
5/27 He became politically active through the election of Donald Trump in 2016:
6 He became a Christian in the summer of 2018. The role of religion of the shooter is often overlooked in far-right terror attacks, but on terrorgram there is a big section of devout Christian channels calling for mass murder in the name of their religion:
7/27 The debate about gun restrictions is one of the most important tools in radicalization by the far-right (see "The Turner Diaries"). He also highlighted the importance of humor for Nazism. It turns out these memes are not "just a joke".
8/27 He visited 8chan and 4 chan several times in the month bevor the attack and announced his actions on the imageboard EndChan (8chan was offline at the time after 3 far-right terrorists posted their "manifestos" there in 3 months):
9/27 His online searches included "Christchurch", "Breivik", "Alt-right", "massacre", "incel" & "holocaust"
10/27 He cites Christchurch as his inspiration for attacking a mosque and murdering Muslims:
11/27 He also found the far-right terror attack in El Paso "encouraging":
12/27 He tried to be recruited by the nazi group Nordic Resistance Movement [NMR/NRM/PVL/DNM] in the summer of the attack
What He Believes In:
13/27 He is an ethno-nationalist and white supremacist:
14/27 He believes in the conspiracy theory of the great replacement, Nazis call it "white genocide":
15/27 He blames "cultural marxists and socialists" and gay people:
16/27 He says Hitler is his role model:
17/27 He believes in conspiracy theories about Jews:
10 August 2019
19/27 He got the weapons out of the safe, loaded them.
"Went in to Johanne, shot her, with intent to kill."
Two of the four shots were deadly:
20/27 He wanted to live-stream his attack, but forgot his phone at home:
21/27 There are only three people at the mosque. He gets overpowered by Muhammad Rafiq and Mohammad Iqbal, who are 65 and 76 years old:

22/27 The lives of these both heroes are sadly changed by the attack, Iqbal has problems sleeping and is worried by cars outside. The injuries of the fight with the attacker forced him to use crutches again:
23/27 Rafiq no longer goes outside:
At the Trial
24/26 He flashes the OK sing at the trial, just like the Christchurch shooter. Far-right people claim it's just a joke 4chan invented to troll the media, while far-right extremist use it signal white supremacy.(screenshot to blur his face)
25/27 He shows no remorse and would do it again:
26/27 His only regret is not harming more people:
27/27 His aim was to polarize Norway. We see this motive a lot in far-right terror. The Christchurch shooter popularized the idea of "accelerationism", act out terror to destabilize a country and lead it into civil war. The only way to reach an entho-state
