Meralco Bill Shock Thread. Please share if you care and take time to read!!! @ABSCBNNews @gmanews Everyone is surprised dahil sa absurd calculation ng bill ng @meralco. So I did pull my engineering skills from the past to do some MATH! Ganito ang ginawa ni Meralco sa ating lahat:

They took advantage of the ECQ by assuming our bill on March&/April as equal to average of the past 3-month usage. "The March and April bills were based on the previous 3 months consumption per the ERC advisory, before ECQ where consumption was much lower," - Joe Zaldarriga.

Ano ang mangyayari pag ganito? Kung ang usage mo sa past 3 months ay 200kWH each month for example, nasa 200kwH din ang average rate mo, so 200kwH ang assumed usage mo.

Walang nag read ng meter mo kahit supposedly tumaas to sabihin natin na ang actual usage mo ay 300kwH kasi nag Work from home ka na at this period and mas mainit kasi summer.

So may 100KwH ka na di pa binayaran sa month na yan. Willing ka naman magbayad kasi kawawa naman ang mga nag checheck ng metro kung paikutin mo para mag conduct ng meter reading sa ECQ period.

Ang 200kwH mo na assumed value, yan yung pinag-multiply sa charges ni Meralco that month. Since mababa siya than your true usage, mababa ang multiplier for this month! Ano ang multipliers na to? Example: please check out Distribution Charge Rate ng bill mo

Based sa table from that link, dahil 200 kwH ang assumed usage mo, yung multiplier mo na distribution charge rate ay 1.0012 lang.

200kwH * 1.0012 = 200.24 pesos
ito ang distribution charge mo na mag rereflect sa bill na may marami pang charges..
kung binasa ni Meralco ang meter mo na 300kwH na supposed actual usage:
200kwH * 1.0012 = 300.36 pesos

300.36 pesos ang total distribution charge mo dapat. Akala mo nakatipid ka ng 100 pesos? Hindi.

The next month may nag read na ng meter mo, pumatak na meron kang 400kwH na usage for the month of May!

Assuming na 300kwH lang yung actual usage mo sa May, dito na dinagdag ang 100kwH mo from previous month kaya naging 400kwH. Don't get lost here, same total ng power usage pero iba ang multiplier mo ngayon! Hindi na 1.0012!

Diba mas mataas kapag 400kwH? 1.6175 na ang rate.

400kwH * 1.6175 = PHP 855.48 pesos ang distribution charge mo for May.

So during the ECQ period, 855.48 + 200.24 = 1000.72 pesos... ito ang total na nasingil sayo as distribution charge palang!

Now, kung binasa yung meter mo ng tama month by month,

300.36 + 300.36 = PHP600.72 lang dapat ang distribution charge mo.

Calculation pa lang ng distribution charge ito may 400pesos ka nang ghost-bill.

Same usage ng power 300kwH + 300kwH = 400kwH + 200kwH = 600kwH ! Yan yung usage mo sa ECQ period, same lang naman ang total kung binasa separately ang metro mo or isang basahan sa May 2020.

Sabi ulit ni Joe Zaldarriga "However what was billed in May will be the actual of May which reflects full ECQ impact (people are on lockdown and consume more) plus the adjustments from March and April thus the higher actual consumption as reflected in the bills".

Tama ang sinabi ni Joe Zaldarriga tama ang totality ng reading electric consumption mo pero

MAS MATAAS ANG SININGIL SAYO.

Take note, distribution Charge pa lang ang kinompute ko. Ang latest reading mo, minumultiply pa yan sa generation price, transmision charge rate, and system loss.

Summary: the distribution charge rate that will take effect on the bill is higher because the the usage placed is the total kwh of May, and the excess of previous ecq months april and march. @meralco has to fix this.
