In her book "In Freedom's Shade", Anis Kidwai clearly states that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was directly involved in and encouraged the massacre of Muslims in 1947, including the Muslim villages around Delhi. She also says that Mahatama Gandhi was in knowledge of this fact.

Large number of Muslim refugee trains coming from India to Pakistan were attacked in a planned manner & people were massacred, records are held. When such trains, some with not a single person alive, came to Pakistan, there were some retaliatory attacks on trains moving to India.
Killing large number of peopel in a planned manner is mass murder & massive forced eviction is ethnic cleansing. This is what Deputy Prime Minister of India Vallabhbhai Patel was directly involved in 1947. He should be posthumously tried for Crimes Against Humanity.
The ADC to the Raja of Alwar state confirmed the fact that orders of Muslim mass murder and ethnic cleansing in Alwar state were directly passed by Vallabhbhai Patel to the ruler of Alwar.

Ironic as it is, after having ordered massacre of Muslims using RSS and others during 1947-48, Vallabhbhai Patel wanted communal harmony in India in 1949. And this is particularly interesting in view of the fact that a BJP government has constructed a statue of a Congress wala.
Indian Sikh Plan for invasion of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) was conceived in 1945. Its outlines started emerging in early 1947. Indian Sikh/Hindu Jathas invaded Jammu first & massacred over 250,000 Muslims & over 500,000 were ethnically cleansed, pushed in Pakistan/changed demography.
Kashmir was invaded by Indian Sikh and Hindu jathas much before the Pathan tribesmen went to Kashmir to protect the Kashmiri Muslims. This happend in the aftermath of Jammu massacre at the hands of Indian Hindu and Sikh jathas who invaded Kashmir from Indian Punjab.

Sikh war bands were “working under some centralised control” reported British commander of Boundary Force in 1947. After surrounding Muslim villages Sikhs attacked in waves. Hurl grenades over walls, others set fire to thatch huts & swordsmen hacked down those trying to flee.
Princely states of Alwar & Bharatpur were home to 330,620 Muslims in 1941. Pre-1947 era, these states practised policy of ethnic cleansing, forced conversions, capture of women & genocide of Muslims.

Between 16 Mar and 26 Dec 1947, Sikhs and Hindus carried out 150 explosions in towns and cities of West Punjab, Pakistan. Almost one explosion every second day in various towns and cities. Tens of thousands of Muslims died in these explosions. This was the price of freedom.
