@ZemenuYA So basically Rotract is part of the worlds largest voluntary organisation called Rotary.
It is the youth part of this organisation. Starts from age 18 and used to be until 30, but as off last year that above age limit has been withdrawn.

@ZemenuYA So in Rotaract members (Rotaractors)are expected to develop their professional skills while giving back to the community.
They can develop their skills through different means,
1. There are different leadership positions so one can be elected and serve at a one position for 1yr.

@ZemenuYA 2. You network with professionals from different backgrounds. In Ethiopia there are 16+ Rotaract clubs, each have members from different professions.

3. There are trainings organised by the clubs them selves. Well known Guest speakers will be invited and will share experiance

@ZemenuYA Each clubs have different community service projects based on the 6 areas of focus of Rotary. SEE the pic below.

@ZemenuYA The club members are responsible to come up with the project by identifying the need of the community, come up with how the project should be funded, how the project will take place, how the PR for the project be taken. So the will develop their skill through the process.

@ZemenuYA There are 13 Board of Director positions. And one person can only serve a position for only one year (July 1-June30). Every year in Dec-Feb elections will take place for the coming Rotary year. One can nominate him/her self for positions they think they could fit in.

@ZemenuYA The 13 BOD positions are.
1. President
2. V. President
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Club Service Director
6. Community Service Director
7. Fundraising Director
8. Interact Director
9. International Service Director
10. Public Relation Director
11. Project officer

@ZemenuYA 12. Professional Development Director
13. Sargent at arms

These directorships have their own responsibilities.

The first 3 are the only ones which require at least 2 years of service to their clubs.

@ZemenuYA And ofcourse we have fun in doing so.

There are programs organised around Holidays, there is food and music and some choose to dance by some I mean me lol

The FRIENDSHIP which at times turns to being family.
I have great friends, that I met while serving in Rotaract. These friends have been there for me and I've been there for them as well. I am forever grateful to find such friends.

@ZemenuYA @RCAbugida All in all I don't believe there are enough youth led organisations in Ethiopia. Along with @AIESECEthiopia & @in_toastmasters, @RACEthiopia have been doing in nurturing youth in Ethiopia to become professionally fit.
I encourage young professionals to check these organisations.

@ZemenuYA @RCAbugida @AIESECEthiopia @in_toastmasters @RACEthiopia Clubs meet every other week usually on Sundays. To become a member of a Rotaract Club one must attend these meetings.
